New uniform?

I have seen in the current Scouting magazine that there are new sweatshirts for Beavers and Cubs. I didn't know about these before and feel a bit bad for our new Beavers who have just bought the old ones.

I'm not sure that I actually like the logo being added there either:

I wouldn't worry, ours have bought the old ones and gradually, as they leave the section, all have the new ones. I won't ask anyone to get the new ones instead.

I prefer the 'old' style, it's smarter without the badge at the bottom.

I like the new woggle too! ours have the yellow 'promise' one and then their lodge colour. I've got a leather 'beaver' one, similar to 'beaver of the month' one and it's very well made.

I do not like it, it smacks to me of a blatent attempt to change the uniform to get people to buy a new one, a bit like changing football shirts every other week.

There is no practical improvement, is the new one windproof or water proof?

There is no need to put the section logo on them as you could not confuse them between cubs and beavers, it's the same with the poloshirts, now you need a seperate one for the cub who's just moved to scouts.

I also think that it may make it more difficult for those families that have had their children sensible spaced apart so they have one in each section.

Little Jimmy isn't going to want their brothers old cub sweatshirt when their mate has a new one with a funky logo on it.

When do the scout shirts come out with the logo somewhere obvious?

I have one of the old new ones with the Beavers logo in gold on black leather which is our colours

I really like the new Beavers polo shirt but I have always seen them as optional so it doesn't matter if you have the old one or none at all. The sweatshirt is core uniform so as you say hand-me-downs will be more tricky.

I've never been able to hand down my sons beaver sweatshirts to younger brothers coz they're always in such a mess!! Usually paint on the sleeves and no idea what's faded down the front! - At least he's had a good time!!

The thing is the new ones seem like they would cost more to make but are (currently) the same price as the old ones so less profit surely?

Whilst the new corporate purple trimmings are very nice, the shirt material is really pants compared to the old ones. Looks like it might be see through when wet - ok for the fellas...

Wonder if that means the price is going up then!!??

Will need to get my middle son a cub sweatshirt for after christmas, guess he'll have the new style. Has the cub polo t shirt changed too?

ive got the new leader polo and like it!! wear it when we do climbing or on camp!! fortunatly i havent been caught out in the rain yet!!

Im not to sure if i like the logos on the jumpers though no one in my group has them yet so if any of them get them im sure i can get better idea!!

i think instead of making new logos and things on jumpers they should make bigger sizes as one of my cubs didnt fit in the sizes they currently have and we had to get mum too just get him a plain green jumper that fit instead of wasting her money buying a jumper that is already to small!!

I don't mind the new designs, though if it is see through there may be some pushback from people trying to stop me buying one. Some thingh are better left unseen

The sweatshirsts are uniform. just looked in the scout shop and they're refering you to the new ones if the size is out in the old ones. You don't need the polo shirt, though many do coz it's better in the summer than any old tshirt

It gets confusing for me because the pictures on the Scout Shop etc... show them without badges or scarves.
