wordpress rss widget help

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find the coding to edit the rss widget field?

I would like to modify the RSS widget code to remove the hyperlink from the title of the feed/widget and just replace it with a text header. Either that or edit the link so it is 'white' and thus visible! (would be as good / better if I am honest)

I think I have tracked the php file down to default-widgets.php but can't work out whic bit to look at (there are LOADS of 'rss' entrys!)

I would advise not changing the coding for default widgets, as when the next WordPress update comes along you'll just have to find and change it again.

What you could do is add this bit off CSS to your theme's stylesheet:

h2 a.rsswidget, h2 a.rsswidget img { display: none; }

That will hide the linked widget title and little RSS icon.

Then, put in a regular "Text" widget above the RSS widget and type your title in there. Should work in theory but I've not tested it.

I've tried the stylesheet route you suggest but either it's not working or (more likeley) i'm not doing it right!

I have tried assing the code to the style.css - in a variety of places but no joy. Any more pointers / suggestions?

sorry to drag this up again but does anyone else have any suggestions?

I'm quite happy to just be able to change the colour of the text - in fact I think I would rather this to be honest.......
