thanks! You all make it sound so easy.

What's happened is Dave has set up the account, so the account believes the domain is correct.
What we now have to do is allow all the Internet Service Providers around the world realise where your domain should be pointing to. I.e. if someone in Australia says i want to visit your site, their ISP needs to know your on Escouts. That takes 24 - 48 hours (as i believe you pointed out above)
However sometimes you will be able to access it much sooner.

daniel,
Now ThAT ^^^ makes sense!I shall try again tomorrow then. Thank you!
I think I shall write a "how to" manual designed for old luddite leaders like me(I used to be a tech writer)
There are ways to get around it using the ip address, for viewing and for FTP, but it will be easier just to wait and give it a try tomorrow.

Yes!! Done this!!In Windows, go to My Computer, and if the address bar isn't showing, go to view > toolbars > address bar
Then in the address bar, type in
ftp://yourusername:yourpassword@yourdomain.com
and hit enter.
You should now be logged into your site via FTP
Oh its all going swimmingly!!!
And fell at the last fence!!!![]()

So.....downloaded CMSCOUT and have a little window open called FTP directory/public_html at (my domain) .... but tried to cut and paste CMScout but how?? do I have to upload it or something???? sorry to be such a muppet.![]()
Unzip the CMScout zip file that you downloaded from the CMScout website. Unzip it somewhere on your own computer (In My Documents is normally a good place)
You should then have a folder called CMScout2.00, open this. You will see lots of files and folders, select them all, press ctrl+c (Or edit->copy if you prefer that method).
Then goto the public_html folder on your server, I believe you know how to do this know
Paste all the CMScout files there (Ctrl+v or edit->paste). Windows will then upload all the files for you, it will take some time as there are almost a thousand files (Go have a cup of coffee).
thanks jedi. I tried to do this and nothing happened, so I thought i'd have to strip naked and chant something at full moon as well. I shall try again!
I feel so.......needy!!![]()

I forgot this step. Once you've worked with computers for as long as some of us had, chanting to the full moon becomes so ingrained in who you are that you forget that you are doing it.![]()
Will tomahawk need a database Jedi...?
(And if we had a willing author for a simple article it would certain be appreciated...)
