    Old Queens Scout badge.

    Hi all.
Looking for an old queens scout badge, the one that has a brown background and was replaced by the current one in about 1997.

Swapped my rather large shirt for my male friends rather small one (he grew, I lost weight) and he was meant to give me his loose badge he hadn't yet sewn on, and I kindly left mine on my old shirt to save him a sewing job, but he never gave me the badge.

I really want one as I want to wear my acheivement with pride, and I dont want the new one as it's not the same as the badge I earned. Can anyone help?

    thanks.

    Queen Scouts Award

They seem to appear on ebay for £10 quite regularly... Alternatively, try the international badgers club.

    Got one!!!!

got one for £15 in the end on ebay. but have since been told that I have to get a new one and a new uniform (still have old one!) I'm not happy about this, is this true? Surely all of the adult leaders arn't expected to replace all their badges and uniform, are they? The new shirts are crap and fit like a sack of tatties!!! you can shoot peas through them too!! can someone let me know what the policy is?

new badge... no... wouldn't have thought so... i still wear mine

but if you think that the point of uniform is that it is all meant to look the same... the old nasty brown shirts need to be changed... I haven't seen one worn by somebody under the age of about 80 in the past 10 years...

The old dark brown uniform was changed about 5 or 6 years ago, so you probably should have changed before now.

I've changed the thread title to no longer wanted for you

Just found this on Scoutbase, it was changed in 2001 http://www.scoutbase.org.uk/hq/uniform/index.htm

I wear my brown badge on my uniform as do other Leaders in my district. No one has ever told me I must update it.
It's the badge I was presented with and i wear it with pride!

What's the brown diamond V badge ? Did I get it in venture scouts ? Can't remember what my 1990 Queens scout badge looks like.

The brown diamond v badge is the venture scout award, and was the award you got before the queens scout! Thanks for everyone's replies, that clears up the badge issue at least, not to amused about the shirt thing however, but can see the point everyone is making, was at our local gala day today in the parade and my shirt was a shade of brown between the explorers and the leaders shirts, so it could prove confusing, however, on another point, alot of adults in south east scotland region still have the old shirt as they are all fairly ancient!!! LOL!!! Two pockets and with flaps on top are just too good to replace!!!!! You lean over with the others on and everything falls out!! Maybe we should start up a flaps petition!!! hehe!

No, the queens scout badge was also a brown diamond with a crown, if you want to see one, put in hong kong queens scout award into a search on ebay!! Now the queens scout is a crown on a blue diamond background (I think).

Looked out my old VS shirt, saw the V award, but I took off the Queens scout badge when I moved to land leadership. Lost it though. Lost my neckies too.

Still got my Chief Scouts Award certificate, it's on the kitchen wall. Lost my Queens Scouts one, finished after helping run a foreign camp and exchange in 1990. Luneberger hiede.

    Unhappy

a similar thing has happened to me. Swapped my shirt with a fellow scouter and just left the badge on, and he was meant to give me his loose one to stick on the swapped shirt (his was too small, mine too big, swap was a perfect solution, or so i thought!!!). alls well now in the end, except for the news I have to wear one of the new crappy shirts!!! DOH!!!!
