Ive got my GCSE English Individual Speech tomorrow or if im lucky Friday, and i just want to get a few things right before i go diving into it and getting it all wrong!

so heres what im just checking vie got right,

28 million Members in 216 countries, over half a million of which are in UK.

Lord Robert Baden-Powell of Gilwell (or Robert Baden-Powell as he originally was) founded Scouting in 1907 at Brownsea Island, Dorset, England where he took 24 (? help on that bit please ?) boys to camp ands teach them surviival skills and to lead a different life.

The European Jamboree, Eurojam as it is named, will be help in 2005 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex (spelling and is that right?) of which 10,000 (or is it 20,000) boys and girls between the age of 10 and 18 (?) from Europe will attend.

The World Scout Jamboree is in the same place, in 2007, but for 40, 000 people World Wide will attend?

I think ive got the rest of it, but those were the points im not sure on! Many Thanks!

You reckon i can talk for 5 mins about Scouting, how it Founded, What it is, and Whats in its Future?

Cheers!

I have had a look around the internet to see if I could confirm your answers

The number of boys seems to go between 20 - 24

But I thgink it's 20 because of whats on the stone
http://www.brownsea-island.org.uk/history.htm

Scouts.org.uk says 211 countries
http://www.scouts.org.uk/scout/index.htm

The Eurojam site has the spelling
http://www.eurojam.org/english/join/index.php but has the ages 11 to 18

and some details about the world jamboree

BUT - The think to remember is no one is going to be able to say you are wrong - as long as you don't say something completly silly like

3 people are going to the world jamboree or 300 billion no one will notice

Good Luck

Did it today, and she loved it!

Got a bit of laughing at from some stupid **** at the back of the class, which the teacher stopped me mid drift to have a go at him for doing it, but she was impressed with it!

Thanks for your help Martyn.
