For those of you that drive:

From 1 December 2003 you will be breaking the law if you use a hand-held mobile phone whilst driving.

And you will earn a £1000 on the spot fine.

and also, if I have got this right, even when you are stationary in your car aswell including being parked up

if this is true about even if your parked up (i havent a clue tbh), im guessing that it will be similar to loads of laws at the moment, where technically its against the law but in reality nobody will care that your sat in a car park using your phone.

police arent just going to nick people for no reason, its like if you have car keys on you when drunk they CAN prosecute you, but have you ever seen this happen or been searched for keys when you're out?

bout time it became illegal tho, the amount of lethal drivers you see using their mobiles when driving is ridiculous!

The parked up bit is rubbish, if i remember correctly. If you have pulled up, handbrake is on and you are not obstructing the road, then you a free to use your mobile. If the car is momentus in anyway (including not having the handbrake on) and you use your phone, you are breaking the law and its £1000 smakeroos on the spot fine.
