Hi Baracles,

Where abouts are you in Wales?

I just spent a week in Wales, and saw so many scout troops on summer camp I am guessing, it was great. What a great advert for scouting.

Cheers

We started at a small place called goytre wharf and then went along the mon and brec canal up til Brecon.

I'm originally from Wales, although a bit of an expat these days in Southampton. Grew up in Cardiff and was Cub, Scout, Venture, Beaver Helper there. At the start of 2003, I returned briefly as ASL...

hello guys, i'm looking for some local knowledge in mid wales. i'm looking for any good camp sites that anyone can recomend.

oh and on another note, anyone know the location of a really good asault course?

Mark
03-02-2005, 05:41 PM
Dunno about Wales but as far as assault course type activities are concerned see if there is a Go-Ape near where you end up. We visited the New Forest Moors Valley one and it was excellent. Check out http://www.goape.co.uk

The Brecon Scout Group is alive & kicking.

Also, the Brecon Explorers have a good group, & their own website:
www.breconexplorers.co.uk

(don't worry, Admin, there's a link to your site on the Links page:) )

As I seem to be the only Scouter who replied to the "Anyone from Northern Ireland" thread who is actually from Northern Ireland and it seems so far you are the only Welshman, we could always form a breakaway celtic fringe.

well on page 4 anyway. I don't really want to talk to myself, again. (i'm tired of the voices in my head anyway)

TRH, I'll talk to you - the voices get boring after a while, don't they?:D

In the Heart of Llandeilo at the Centenary Camp weekend 400 Carmarthenshire Cubs, Scouts, beavers and Leaders braved the Welsh weather. A true sign that there is Scouting in Wales.

I hope Red Squirrell doesn't read your the only Scout in Wales the voices in her head are frightening.
