I will stick the Land as well last time I went sailing I sank and I am usually seasick on a boat. Living on the edge of nowhere means its a long way to an airfield.

North Wiltshire isn't exactly near the sea, unless you count Weston-super-mud, but the Sea Scouts use the lake at Corsham, and we have Air Scouts at RAF Lyneham.

This is a good opportunity to remind Sea Scout and Air Scout members to join the Sea/Air social group.

Click below and join....

Air Scout Social Group (http://www.escouts.org.uk/forum/group.php?groupid=17)

There wouldn't be much point to making a Land Scout one as about 90% of escouters are land scouts. But make one if you want Mike.

We should get every single active member of escouts to vote and then we can see what we find.

Land Scout.
If I was meant to be a sea scout I would be made of rubber and float.
If I was mean to be an air scout I would have wings

Land Scouts here but do have an Explorer water mad son who used to be a Sea Scout but had to join the Land Scouts when we moved from London. He did however go to the International Sea Scout camp in Finland this year and had a fantastic time. Many thanks to the 1st Felpham Sea Scouts for taking two of my District Explorers with them to Satahanka.

Land Scout - although I was an RAF Cadet and have been chairman of a local Sailing Club!

Sadly, the only Sea Scout Group in our area (Hastings & Rye) closed some time ago. It seems all wrong for a place such as Hastings, which has been so closely linked to the sea since time immemorial, not to have a Sea Scout Group!

But Jonathan, most Sea Scouts I know are as far away from the sea as you can get! We have one in our district and we are three hours from the coast, if you stick your foot to the floor and drive like the clappers (about 6 in a minibus)!! :tong:

Anything but Sea I'm afraid. As I've got older my susceptibility to seasickness has increased, which made 2005's summer camp to Orkney (7 hours from Aberdeen on the ferry) such a special joy :silly:

Land Scout for me. I don't think there are any Sea Scouts in our District and I can't think of any in the County (I might be wrong).

(mind you Leeds is a fair distance from the sea)
Not as far away from the sea as we are, less than 20 miles from the point defined as being the furthest away from the sea by the OS.
