    Browser differences

    Help required.

I have been setting the layout for my new website, and have been changing dimensions as per the view I see through firefox.

When I checked the page using IE it was "disjointed" Is there a solution?

Could you post the url of your site so we can have a look?

I've just had the problem that a site that looked fine in FF looked horrible in IE. Turned out to be a misplaced entity. That could be the problem, but without the site address, it's a bit difficult to know.

A link would help greatly. It could one of a million things, with some code to look at we should be able to find out the problem.

the main problem now seems to be with the navigation bar (yes I know the links are unrelated to scouting).

trying to sort this all out just now before I move it to escout servers

Because this menu uses positioning using the X and Y axis you are never going to get it perfect. My advice is to find a new menu i'm afraid.

is there differences between IE and FF in that regard, and if so which type of menu should I go for?

As far as I know, I do not have much experience with FF but it can all depend on how much space the browser takes up around the edge etc aswell as things such as the visitors screen resolution can alter it.

eeek, far from it, setting up for IE is by far the worst thing to do. You *should* set websites up for all browsers, this is hard for me and I have been designing for 5 years so probably not the best idea. My best advice would be to download the Opera browser. Usually (Notice I say usually), if the site looks ok in that it looks ok in most other browsers. But remember, any thing such as that menu which uses the latest technology and coding probably wont look great in all browsers.

I must admit when I created my site, I only tested it with IE6 and until very recently never even heard of FF.
(therefore feedback from anyone with other browser types very much welcome)

One thing I noticed waxy, and you're probably in the middle of fixing it right now...
At the very top (tho black on Scout purple is difficult to see), my IE6 says "Your browser does not support script"

Mind you, I did notice the url you posted was for indexB.html, obvisouly different to index.html
Have a problem on this machine DLing images so will take another look when I get home where I'll be able to properly see your nav bar.
