Hi Richard
I'm getting the same error as Tatton29.
Working on a local version of Concrete5 using a WinAMP install.

When I right click on the "X" representing the missing picture, select properties and look at the picture URL, I get the following "http://localhost/concrete5/%3C?=$this->getThemePath()?>/images/sesscoutweb.gif"

My guess is that it's not using the "getThemePath" correctly but I'm not a PHP developer so it's a wild guess.

Could it be a browser issue? (I'm using IE8)

Thanks for all you great help

Tim

Your php install has short tags disabled I am guessing....

Believe this is the solution:
Change
short_open_tag = Off

to
short_open_tag = On

in your php.ini file.

Just found the following article that resolved the issue:
http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/usage/img-src-get-theme-path/

This suggest putting the full PHP code in instead of using the short hand.
(<img src="<?php echo $this->getThemePath(); ?>/image/photo.png" />)

I guess this goes along with what Magician suggests

Once again, thanks for all the hard work you all put in.

Hi Richard
Just to let you know your suggestion regarding "short_open_tag=on" also worked.

Thanks

Hi, Ive just been having a go at rebuilding the site since the escouts server went down and decided to install concrete5 using Richard's scout theme which is really good!!
Having seen that a few people are using concrete5, I just wondered if anyone could tell me how to change the order of links in the top horizonal menu. I have tried editing that block and looked on the sitemap in the dashboard but haven't figured it out.
URL is www.5thmansfield.co.uk
Thanks!

Its based entirely on your sitemap. If you change where they are in the dashboard it changes on the frontpage

Hmm, Im looking at the sitemap via the dashboard but can't see any way to reorder the links. Ive tried dragging and dropping and that doesnt work and cant see a reorder link when you click on an individual item.

EDIT
Aha! And ive managed it. You have to drag the little icon and not the page title :P
Thanks!!

Just started looking at changing my Scouting site over to using concrete, I have installed the Scouting Concrete theme, without re-making my page banned that has come out at 882x116 instead of 882x100 is there a means of increasing the height of the area that displays the banner. I have had a look in the header.php and main.css files but can't see anything that will adjust this height

Richard can I ask what is the difference in the new template from the old one? I based our website on your template and it still seems to work fine with the latest version of concrete5

Very little, other than the change to global area in the header, which gives you a site wide header.

However, in 5.5.1 you cannot now upload simple blue from the dashboard, so the instructions that were there were wrong. In short it made more sense to package them in the way I have

Ahh ok just wondering if I had missed something that meant I ought to be updating our site template but I take it the change is more relevant to new users fo the templates.

youd be better taking the new template if you are on 5.5.1 all you need do is install it, then rename your banner to escoutweb.gif when copying it in

Hey, I'm trying to restore a website of mine as I managed to make a small error, however I cannot remember the old instructions prior to your update on how to install the scouts theme you created, also the database I have is reliant on the simple blue theme not the new theme. I have the old files but not the instructions. Any help would be appreciated.

The theme is NOT new just packaged differently, it is the simple blue theme with the modifications made. You would be able to upload
the 5.4 and below theme and change the graphic.

However I dont know if the fact that you've not got the files is whats causing the problem, so: download the attached, which is all the files you would place in they have already been modified (this is from an existing site):
place in yoursite.org.uk/packages

Then ensure the structure is this
yoursite.org.uk/packages/theme_simple_blue
yoursite.org.uk/packages/theme_simple_blue/themes/simple_blue
yoursite.org.uk/packages/theme_simple_blue/themes/simple_blue/elements
yoursite.org.uk/packages/theme_simple_blue/themes/simple_blue/images - the only change you would then need to make was to recreate the image sesscoutsweb.gif as your header image (the psd is included)

Hope that helps
