Activity Plus badges for younger sections

    Hi Wayne

I started this thread yesterday and it seems to be something that could be of interest for Cubs (and just possibly Beavers as well), rather than only Scouts:

Although it is not that common for a Cub to exceed the expectations for an Activity Badge, it does happen from time to time, and it would be great to reward that effort with a badge.

Would you be willing to ask HQ to extend the formal right to award the Activity Plus badge to other sections?

Thank you, as always, for your time.

    Hi Penny,

I can see a few disadvantages to extending e.g. something different for the older sections, more time for them to achieve etc. but I can also see many benefits for the younger sections, especially the ability for leaders to tailor and to use to retain older cubs etc.

Good news is that the Programme team will pick up as part of a regular review of the award schemes they are looking at.

    Many thanks for the suggestion,
    Wayne

    Thanks Wayne.

This normally applies only to the very keenest Cubs, so it feels as though it is doubly worth doing for that reason.

I won't expect instant results, but I will be very pleased if it is given due consideration as part of the formal badge scheme.

(Informally, should you ever be in Chesham, please don't look too closely at a couple of my Cubs' sweatshirts, will you? )
