    Trustees

Hi Wayne, hope all is well.

I just saw the call for trustees

Candidates need to be nominated and seconded by members of the Council.

Is there a directory of members of the council, so that prospective candidates can see if they actually know anyone on it (e.g. I'm pretty sure that apart from you I've never met anyone on it, but not sure because I really haven't got a clue who is on it).

Also, what are the electoral colleges and who are members of them?

    Thanks

    Hi Duncan,

I see that Steve has answered for me in the related thread; won't reinvent the wheel.

I'm sure that the Corporate Services team will forward you the list if you email the address in the open call.

The south england electoral college is formed of the SE, SW, East of England and London Scout regions and the north england of NW, NE, East Midlands and West Midlands. However, candidates, are voted on by all members of Council (of which there are around 350 from memory) not just those in their college.

Hope this helps, happy to expand further.

Thanks, so the electoral college is CC's and people appointed by CC's? I'm not aware of any election for Youth representative (or any invitations for anyone interested in being nominated) for council in East Sussex in the time I've been here.

It's just in my experience most leaders won't have a clue who is eligible to nominate/second someone to be a trustee.

No. In my experience, including East Sussex when I attended the AGM a couple of years ago, the Nominated Member of Council along with the Nominated Youth Rep are appointed by the County Scout Council at their AGM.

I agree that most members have little notion of our structure beyond what immediately impacts them - hence you will have seen greater promotion over the past couple of years.

    Cheers,
    Wayne
