    Night Hike

    Hi,

I'm planning a night hike for two scout groups, and wanted to see if anyone here had any resources, e.g. letters, forms, route cards etc etc

    Cheers

    Graham

Sorry I ought to have been able to work out the connection between you and the post on uk.rec.scouting! Whilst I can't help with a route in Croydon I'm happy to email you our still developing nike hike plans. There based in Ruislip woods but you might be able to tranfer them to Addington Hills or somewhere local to you. It's a 4Km night hike through woodland with incident bases along the way. Any good to you?

The quiz part was added as we have a Scout Troop and a Guide company who don't know each other, the plan is for them to realize they need to find out more about each other in round one and then by round six (the second attempt at the quiz) they should know each other better and therefore do better at the quiz. Dunno if it will work but hey..

    Yeah, good thinking.

I have one idea: Get a ground sheet and fold it to a size where they can all stand on it, then fold it in half and see how many can, and half again etc etc

    P.S Did it @ eurojam.

Realising the amount of leaders etc needed, it's been converted into a ditrict night hike and that's what is coming up soon - I think.

We do something similar to this, except we use bricks (Or a chair). Start with about 6 bricks and get the whole troop (or patrol) on to those bricks, then take away one, etc.

BTW. We have about 46 scouts in the troop
