Thanks, that would appear to have been the problem.

Overlapping text

re: http://joomla.plain-english.cc:83/escouts

I'm new to Joomla, and I'm trying 1.5RC3 with the escouts template in legacy mode. The text in the center of the screen overlaps the stuff in the right-side column... any ideas what's wrong? I realize you may tell me this template is simply not supported in 1.5, but, then again, maybe you'll see something obvious I'm overlooking.

Thanks in advance,
Steven

The menus are appearing differently as well.

I can't see anything obvious.

I wont be supporting a 1.5 version of this. But by all means if someone wants to take it on, or design a new Scout one for 1.5 that'd be great.

joomla help for non-teccy please

Ok, I have just about mastered the real basics for our website but what I'd really like to do is somehow make a banner (I think that's the right term???) or have random photos appear.

This would be at the top of the pages in all the plain space .

I'd ideally like it to have our Group name, maybe our swap badge or necker or use our colours (gold and black) and a few photos sort of mixed in. (I should add I know how to resize photos etc but not really any more).

Help please kind :escouts:

Yours in hope

Are there any easy to read manuals for sorting out Joomla sites. Ours is, to say the least, flat. I am happy creating HTML sites, but ours was set up on Joomla, where the editing formats seem hard to work out.

The best Joomla manuals I have found are at http://help.joomla.org/ where there is a fairly easy to follow Users Manual and a set of tutorials. The easiest way to customize your site is to change the picture/graphics at the top of the page. For the aa_escouts template this appears to be banner.gif in the /templates/aa_escouts/images directory. The way I created my banner was to simply open the file in paintbrush, erase the existing picture, draw a new picture of the same size and then save it under the same name. Once the picture is saved it can be uploaded back into place on the website.

NOTE: I've only been playing with Joomla for about a month so others may come back with better solutions!

The template is not 1.5 compatible unless you turn on compatibilty, or legacy (I cant remember the name off the top of my head)

Even then, its not great

i think this will be a good template for our sections.
However my host only supports newer versions of joomla.
Is it posible to get this template updated for latest version of Joomla! 2.5.4

thanks
