Joomla/Mambo Scout Template(Joomla 1.0XX)

You know what its like, you are more likely to use a Content Management System if looks close to what you want without major changes.

So after several hours of working out Joomla/Mambo Templates I have now came up with the template aa_escouts.

aa_escouts is a hack of ps_business by zorro.

The only customisation you really need to do is edit banner.gif to make it the design you want.

The template has been tested on Joomla 1.0.10 and also on Mambo 4.5.2.3

A live demo can be found at: http://www.midlothianscouts.com

This template is available for all to use, however non Scouts should note that the Scouts logo is Copyright the UK Scout Association.

More information is available about Joomla at http://www.joomla.com

Please note a couple of issues have now been fixed.

You now get the menu item of the page displaying when you are viewing a page or item that is a submenu
Also the Editor colour has been amended as Iain suggested
A layout problem in Internet Explorer has been fixed
We were having some installation issues, if you upload version 1.3 in the last week from 7/8/2006 to 17/8/2006 I suggest you used version 1.4.

    Enjoy

Is it possible to get Joomla/Mambo to show only one column of news instead of cramming it all into one page in three different sections?

    Yep from the Joomla forum:

Go to Menu->Main Menu. Then Select Home. Under Parameters, change the Columns value to 1. You can also change the sorting options there (Primary Order)

Mmm it appears there is a slight annoying display bug if you have several stories . Its at the bottom of the demo. I'll look at it soon

Typical I customise the template with the bug!!!

;) I was slightly startled when I saw the colour combination as I wasn't used to it. Australia scouts colour pattern is a bit different. :P

I liked the look of this...so I stole it and worked it around a bit to make it work as a template for my CMS.

    See: http://www.eastlothianscouts.org.uk/haddington/

Seems to work more-or-less ok for me.

Really great template. Just what I've been looking for.

Just one question. Is it easy enough to modify it so there is no right hand column, so that just the left hand column and the central content are displayed?

Changing the Tiny MCE Background colour

Thanks for this template, it is really useful for a person like me who is new to CMS systems.

I have one tiny, yet annoying issue, however. When this template is set as the default one, the background colour of Tiny MCE (in both backend and frontend) goes a grey colour, and so, when the text is published to the website , it looks like it has a grey highlighter pen running through it.

Here is an example of it: [Edit: Link Removed]

Is there a way around this?

    Thanks for any assistance,

    IAP

    Sorted It

Ah, I've found the issue. I had to enter the CSS, and change the background property of the body section (I hope that's the right word) to #FFFFFF from #E3E3E3 .
