    Hi all,

Are you planning a Escouts camp for 2012?

I dont think one is being planned. If there was you wouldnt be able to go as your under 18.

Well done for slamming the door in his face!

I was under the impression EScouts was for everyone - and therefore the camps could be too. I'm sure if a camp went ahead and those under-18 wanted to attend, then a way to make that happen could be found.

It wasn't very sympathetically done, that's true, but accepting under 18s would make it much more difficult to organise thus much less likely to happen - if there was an under 18 there then everybody would have to prove they had a CRB. Online we don't have to prove anything.

Anyway, I always thought it was the rule that if you suggest something you have to organise it - so in that case I guess Daniel can make his own rules.

I seem to remember that a system was to be put in place should an u18 want to come in previous years!

It would be good to meet up, however life is still as busy as it has been for the last few years which will probably not allow me to go again!!

I remember it always being over 18. I would like to see one happen.

Rule 66. A map and compass offers no protection against getting horribly lost.

Maybe it was a bit harsh and I could have worded it better.

Previous Ecamps were over 18 - by allowing under 18s to go it suddenly makes it more difficult to organise, which unfortuantly could be mean no camp.

Itd be good to have another Ecamp and one that was open to all, but unfortunatly I dont think it will happen unless someone volunteers to organise it.

If there is demand for an Ecamp I'd be happy to look at sorting it out for 2013 or late 2012.

We would look at the under 18 options at the time.

Is there always a massive debate over where it should be?

He who receives a good turn should never forget it; he who does one should never remember it.

If there is to be another Ecamp, then it has to be in the centre of England, its that simple. We tried to go to wales, that didnt work, lovely spot, just not 'central' enough.

As for the under 18 issue, I'm open to that happening, with the appropriate safeguards which would have to involve a Explorer Unit.
