Credits - Terms and Conditions

I am slightly surprised that I am having to write this post, considering the audience being Scouts. But I have noticed a number of Scouting websites using one of my themes where the webmaster has removed the credits to my site.

I therefore request that Scouting webmasters leave a credit link bask to Scouting Themes 4 WordPress and, if they have removed it, to put it back in. This is not really because I want the appropriate credit for the work I have put in - but so that the availability of these free WordPress themes can be more widely available across the Scouting community.

I do note that the credits have almost exclusively been removed on sites where the webmaster has made changes to the theme, but the resulting theme is still basically the theme as downloaded from the site, so an edited credit is absolutely fine.

    Quite agree with that Chris.

You've made them available FOC for scouting purposes.

If they'd paid for the theme, then they should be able to mod it as they wish.

    But they haven't.

I suggest a quiet word, a wait then a name and shame.

For modded themes, they should still say 'based' on.

    I agree with Chris.

I have and will be making changes to the theme and I plan to tweak the footer. The Everyday Adventure 4 Wordpress link will definatly remain.

I like the theme and Chris has put alot of time and effort into making it, and he has kindly made it avaliable to all. Theres even a dedicated support forum on here which is good if you get a response.

It may just be a small link, but it is an important one and as Chris says it is a credit link and also it helps to promote the themes so that more people can use the themes.

Thank you Chris for making all the themes, and kindly making them avaliable to everyone for free - we should all remember that he does not actually have to do this.

    Thanks Don and Keith.

I don't plan on any "naming and shaming" though! :)

Phew! I just checked that I hadn't removed the credit (by accident of course) and I haven't. Without the theme to start me off I'd never have been able to create a website which our group was badly needed.

The link will remain on our website!

Keep up the great work Chris

Just reinstated the return link - sorry. I'd removed the link to Wordpress and taken out the entire block.

I found the templates via another Scout Groups Site, so more than happy to comply...

    Thanks
