    Arrow Risk Assessment

Hi All, Its me again...asking for a little bit more help!

The nights away guide we use for plannign our camps (and the rest of the stuff the SA gives out) mentions risk assessments a lot, just wondering if anybody has a pre-filed out risk assesment as something I could base ours on? Otherwise its a bit more work typing one out!

I can help here John, if you email me I can send you a copy of ours.

I must stress though that for the RA to be really effective you need to ensure that people actually read and understand their responsibilities. Just submitting the RA isn't anywhere near as effective as sitting down and writing it yourself.

This doesn't necessarily negate all the benefits of shared RA's but you ought to review it carefully in the light of your teams abilities, the environment you will be in and the risks that You identify.

Waffle over, feel free to email me for a copy you can adapt to suit your needs.

this is most helpfull mark, I'll email you now. I understand the advice you are giving about a risk assesment being most useful when it is filled out by me / us, however when i sat down to do this the other day I didnt even know where to start, what level of detail do you include, how far do you go?

At the moment im a student civil engineer and risk assesments crop up all the time, but there is nothing like a bit of hands on real experience in actually making one.

    Many thanks!
