scouts.org.uk and trying to be positive

    Wayne,

Happy New Year and hope you had a good Christmas.

You will have no doubt seen the reaction to the changes to scouts.org.uk just before the Christmas break.

I hope you have also seen the more positive thread listign suggested corrections, improvements and items to be addresed.

When you have had time for the last mince pie to be digested, could you let us all have an update on the next steps for the website and perhaps some feedback on how the issues we have (collectively) identified have been addressed. You might also wish to comment on whether an option to allow beta testing by some of the escouts community could avoid some of the reaction we saw last year.

    Many thanks

    Hi John,

No mince pie to digest, but don't feel too sorry as it's because I was lucky enough to spend Christmas and NY in warmer climes on a family holiday!

Yes, been following all of the comments about the website changes, good and bad, thanks. I also spent yesterday at Gilwell and, amongst other things, met Stephen who has recently ben appointed AD Digital - and has the task of making the website fit for purpose+. He's found his induction interesting.......

We'll be issuing an update communication shortly, Stephen is also keen on the idea of engaging members in a support team for testing etc., much as we have done for Compass, and will be taking several people up on their offer to help (I know he has been in touch with one or two already).

    Cheers,
    Wayne

Now that we have all been back for a few weeks, would Stephen like to share his thoughts on progress and next steps?

    Hi John,
Sure you can appreciate that the team are very busy right now! We are however intending to give a detailed update in this weeks Scouting Plus that will address the issues and outline the next steps and all being well.
    Many thanks,
    Wayne
