Any thoughts and ideas much appreciated!

we alternate between sites close to the south end of Windermere (two sites) and one at Bassenthwaite Lake, all on the lake shore and all greenfield sites where cooking on wood fires is allowed. This year we were able to do water activities, some large scale pioneering (a rope bridge over Windermere constructed by the aquatic pioneering team), mountain biking and finding some hills to walk up. Can obtain contact details for sites if you're interested.

Cumbria Outdoors have a spot on the shore of Bassenthwaite - campsite rather than greenfield. They can make canoes/kayaks available for a reasonable charge.

(Jason - I'm no farmer but my office does have mountain views, you may have noticed that I'm from your neck of the woods! Just a slightly more urban area than Billinge Lump.)

I'm sure I stayed at Branthwaite years ago - hut used to have a meter in it to turn the light on in the field? Plus you come dam the river to raise it to make a bathing pool?

If so is the ghost still there?
