Possible Japan fundraiser (that isn't a jumble sale!)

My son applied to go to the Jamboree in Japan but wasn't selected. When he was doing his prep I suggested, as a fundraiser, that he could perhaps consider 'selling' paper stalks in the UK (made using an origami book he has from a discount book store with coloured paper included) that people then wrote a message to a loved one etc on and then he would have placed them on the peace monument when his 'group' visited Hiroshima and taken a pic for a blog or whatever.

I naturally haven't followed this up and indeed, you may be prohibited from doing so, but I thought I'd put it out there in case it's a goer and useful to anyone who is going.

We've made paper storks before, but I think they might be difficult to transport in large numbers?

    Hey Mang...

Thank you for the idea, it's great that even though your son wasn't selected you're still happy to help... that's scouting!
