Hi, I'm Ian, and I'm an ESL in Farnham, Surrey, the ex-Ventures, now Summit Scout Network, can't seem to shake me off either, even though I'm definitely over 25, and have no official SN position, but hey, I'm their ex-VSL, so they put up with me, like I put up with them.

Scouting history? Well, no Beavers when I were a lad, started going to scout camps with the family aged 6, (where's my 150 Nights Away badge? ; ) ) hated cubs, loved scouts, loved Ventures, became a VSL, did ok for a while, then all the Ventures left to Uni, ooops. Joined another Unit a few months later, never looked back. Managed to get 100% of local Ventures to become Network (yes, of course you can meet in the same place, same time, every week, you're just called something else now), but was then out of a scouting job. So I am now an ESL at Farnham "K2" ESU, who number between 12 and 20, depending on whether we're programme planning, or ten-pin bowling. ; )

    That's me!

    Well her goes.
I'm Colin i started Scouting in Cornwall, where i went through Cubs, Scouts & Ventures (No Beavers in my time). I went off to Poly and eventually got back into Scouting in Kingswood (Suburb of Bristol). I have been ASL, VSL, ADC Activities (for two different Districts) and i am now a DC.
I have construced a District Website and i'm just getting enough nerve up to take out an Escouts hosting so that everybody can look at it rather than just me!
Still enjoy all the outdoors activity side and keep authorisations for Hillwalking and Climbing, but find more and more of my time taken up with paperwork and silly internal politics. But basically still enjoying it.

    printf("Hello <Scouting> World/n");
I'm Jon, (A)CSL with the 92nd Cubs in Leicester. Was an unwarranted helper for about 10 years, thyen the CSL left to start a family, so rather than see the pack close I joined d'movement. I'm also a Duty Warden at the Oaks Campsite, as well as their PR, IT, webadmin & RC Truck bloke. At the moment I'm coordinating some stuff between the campsite, orignasisers of a District Cub Camp (450 Cubs, including 6 of mine) and the GiantSleepOver (world record attempt coincidentally on the same weekend). I'll be involved in the construction of the Charnwood 2006 Leicestershires International Scout/Guide Camp website. Longer term I'm currently trying to interest my employer in participating in EuroJam/WorldJam at Hylands in '05 & '07.
    Phew, anyway "Hi".

Hi everyone! I'm Andy, from Derbyshire. Recently me and a couple of others started a district Scout Network in the area...unfortunately we have yet to attract more members!

Anyway, some of you might recognise me as I was the webmaster for Duffield VSU - which hosts the Derbyshire County Event photo galleries (Alton Towers Camp (Drum Hill), Pontins, etc...) I'm sure some of you lot here have heard of them! Currrently working on producing a proper website for our network...

Anyway what else......Used to go to Beavers/Cubs many years ago, moved house and carried on, but soon dropped out due to lack of any real activities happening. I only really re-discovered Scouting when I joined Venture Scouts in 2000 (or was it 2001...great memory) had lots of fun in Ventures and managed to get my Venture Scout award only months before Ventures was axed altogether (it came at a good time actually, with me turning 20 just before we had to close anyway!). I now really regret totally missing Scouts though

I'm studying for a degree in Software Engineering at Derby uni, just finished my 2nd year, start my placement year in July. I'm also into mountain biking, hiking, travelling, anything that gets me away from my computer really!

    Andy

Hi my name is Peter Andrews and I have been in 30th North Leeds Falkoner Scout Group since the age of 6. I was in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Ventures and achieved my Queen's Scout Award in 2000. My Mum has been the the Beaver Leader in our Group for the last 20 years and my Dad has been the Venture/Explorer Leader for even longer. At the moment I am a Helper with both these sections as well as running our Groups website.

I like going hillwalking and go to Scotland with friends every summer to do a week long expedition. However due to scouting authorisation rules i don't currently hold an M form.

Hi! I'm Adam, from Derbyshire. I'm a member of Genus Network, along with Andy. I am also the webmaster for Derbyshire Scout Network.

I've been a member of the scouts from the age of 6 when I started beavers, then move though the other sections, and was a member of one of the last remaining venture units, Duffield VSU. Anyway, I'm now with Scout Network and it's great fun.

Away from scouting, I'm currently on a uni placement working as an IT technician and webmaster. My hobbies include climbing, hiking, mountain biking, and general socialising.

    Thumbs up

Hi, I'm Ceri, I'm based in South Leicestershire.
I joined Cubs when I was 8, at 1st Long Lawford, in the Rugby District (Warwickshire). Moved up to Scouts when I was 11, but then left scouting due to peer pressure when I was 14.
Started as a helper at Leire & Dunton Cubs (South Leics) in 2002, and became assistant leader at the end of 2003. I'm also on the service team and am duty warden at Ullesthorpe campsite.
I enjoy hiking - a friend and I did the Pennine Way after I left university in 1998 - and I design & program websites in whatever spare time I have.
What else.... musically, I like a lot of things, but mainly prog rock, such as Pink Floyd, Genesis, King Crimson, ELP, etc.

    Let see...

Simon, 29 from Doncaster, South Yorks.

Started Cubs at the ripe age of 8 with 66th Doncaster (Kirk Sandall) - a similar story, no Beavers way back then - and went all the way to ventures, although our HQ changed a lot. We started in a school, then moved to a youth club building then we got our own place, one of those permanent portacabin thingys.

Didnt get on with the Venture leader and was 'asked to leave' at 20... but my best mate was allowed to stay until he was 21 !!

After a short break, came back as ASL for a group that only lived 18 months then moved to Barnby Dun as GSL where I am now.

By day I work for a 'privately owned worldwide joinery manufacturer' doing... I dont really have a job description actually. I make fancy spreadsheets for our Estimating & Sales Depts and have recently been given a project involving the intranet and developing an extranet.

By night, I am a loving husband and father-of-one. Enjoy darts, hold 'em poker and 'playing' with the group website.

It's all right, I know where Gordon is. Mind you I have to admit my first visit up your way was at Scottish Conference, last year.

    Anyway, welcome to

    Hi there,

New to escouts, so i thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself to you you.

I am Robin, 20 years old (well i am tomorrow) from Bracknell in Berkshire

i have been scouting every since i was a beaver, so many years now.

I am currently the treasurer, for South Berkshire Network unit, a small unit with 7 members, but hoping to grow soon as some of our 72 member strong Explorer Scout unit are due to move up.

i am also Asl at 1st Sandhurst scouts, and have been ever since i turned 18.

currently i do not work, so i am able to put alot of time into scouting, which i can easily say plays one of the most important parts in my life, especially as most of my friends are also scouts

am currently working on a website for our scout network group, as not only a place to tell the world who we are and what we do, as also to see if any members in the local community of south berkshie (Bracknell, Sandhurst, Crowthorne, Owlsmoor) wish to join, and also as a resource for our member to discuss things like the program at our leisure etc..

not really sure what else to say.
