Hi, I'm Tony. Been on here for a long while but never posted before as far as I can remember, mostly, because someone has already got in before me and said what I would have said. Anyway, I've been a Wolf Cub, a Boy Scout, a Senior Scout, an original Venture Scout and a Queen Scout. I've been a Wolf Cub Instructor, (anybody remember them?), an SL, a GSL, a DSL and I'm currently an ACSL and District Chair. Professionally, I'm an Internal Auditor, which is generally a good conversation stopper. I'm also a governor of a FE College. Greetings to you all. Tony

Hi Tony, welcome to the forum and nice to see you finally made your first post!

Wow, you've certainly been through a few roles in your time.

Don't worry, you're definitely not the only one with an "interesting" career - I'm an accountant. xD

Goodness. We must be the only two Wolf Cub Instructors left alive! Can you pass me my stick?

    Hi

I'm Mike I was a Cubs Section Assistant for 3 years and then in October seem to have accidentally ended up as Cubs Section Leader. I keep being reminded that about a year ago someone asked me if I had any ambition to be a Section Leader and I said "No way, I just want to be having fun and do crafts and games and stuff!", I suspect I'll never live that down. After feeling really stressed for the first month (and I still have traumatic flashbacks to my first night in charge), I've calmed down, got used to the role, learned to delegate (I've a great leadership team for the section) and I'm back to enjoying my Wednesday nights again. I thought I'd join this forum to see what I can learn off people on here who are WAY more experienced than I am.

Isn't that what most of us are in Scouting for

We're all in it for the right reasons, but sometimes we disagree - which I think is how we make progress.

I've been at it for 25 years, and I'm still learning.

    Hi all newcomers!

Welcome to escouts. Feel free to ask for any assistance you need. This is one of the most well-informed forums around containing experience and knowledge in scouting in shed-loads! They can be a tadge noughty but stay calm and allow a little forbearance!

Some of us are nowadays quite old differs but still young at heart 😁😁 !

I'm not around much these days but if can help I will. I'm a GSL in small group with a "few" years of experience and many logged posts on the forum, though few of late. Struggling with challenges that would be easier to win the National Lottery at present. However I keep smiling and my brain is still working ok!
