    Occasional Helpers and Personal Enquiries

Question: How do we put OH's onto Compass so that they don't require a DBS to get to a full role
Erm, you don't? OH is not a role, it is simply a way of triggering a DBS check where one is required, and it didn't exist in the days of paper CRB forms. For now at least - I can see that changing in relation to the idea of applying CE checks to all adults.

In any case this is another question to Wayne that should really have gone to the Info Centre.

    Disagree Neil.

The question was one asked of someone in my County and the reply came from the County Secretary who is also County Compass Champion.

I suspect that the reply was not made up in County but came from HQ.

As a result, i think that the answer should be more widely publicised rather than me questioning privately an answer that was given with the info centre.

PE is required for ALL adults according to POR but DBS is limited to those who NEED one. So the answer given looks to be correct but is not being widely publicised - so needs to be in POR if it is correct.

What is the answer your County gave?

Edit: There must still be a cut-off - it would be excessive to CE check one off visitors, for instance.

I stand corrected on the above...it seems from Wayne's answer there is more to come on this. Apologies.

The answer given by County was under the question posed to Wayne.

I just didn't want it being a Local Rule but suspected if of coming from HQ - in which case it needed more people than odd ones in my county knowing about it.

It does appear that it is being addressed though.
