What no gender? (Youth upload spreadsheet)

Is it me, or does the youth upload spread sheet not have the gender of the young person on it?

So, as that is mandatory information in compass...what happens when we try an upload? Will it work? Will it leave the field blank and stop us in our tracks when we edit their details? Anyone know?

Pretty fundamental omission I'd have thought.

Ok, when you go to add a new young person, there's a title and a gender. Hope they fill the gender in from the title.

Of course if all circulars originating from smithy's details been entered on compass came addressed to wing commander smithy at least people could see what the info was been used for.

How many have filled yourselves out as English, Scottish or Welsh, rather than the dyed in the wool White British tag. Also in the address panel for the YP it asks what country you are in so does it not recognise the UK anymore?

Once you have a title you are stuck with it, so if an Able-Seaman manages to be promoted to Rear Admiral he can't change it in Compass.

Not being able to alter title is just ridiculous what if a mistake is made initially or someone with a less standard title gets promoted or made a Sir or a Lord etc or even a gender reassignment. I can think of one title change that must happen fairly regularly to academics, namely from Dr to Prof. My Dad still gets some stuff address to him as Dr Andrews despite the fact he has been Prof Andrews for about 15 years now.

TSA has British Scouts Overseas and Branch Associations.

English was not an option in the youth system before today. This I understand has been fixed. Previously you could be Scottish, Welsh, British, Irish, or any foreign nationality, but strangely not English. I am guessing this was a subtle attempt to satisfy the Indepence movement by eliminating certain minority groups and declaring us all part of the United Kingdom. Or it could have been a small bug.

Youth upload is expected to be available next week. TSA is testing it as I type.

It could at least default to the UK, or even better, default to the country that the section you are adding them to is based. Although there are many more important things to fix first.....
