    POR review

    Wayne mentioned a substantial POR review in a recent Question Time response. Has anyone seen or know any information about this by any chance?

    There is a member 'of this parish' who knows a lot about it. Some have even met the team involved at Reunion.

    It's a big task...

    Thanks Peter. Is any information being shared and/or engagement sought?

    About 2 years ago they invited people (openly, I think it was in Scouting+) to take part on the team. I was interested, but unfortunately I was (and still am) a bit "Scouted out" and don't have time for any more roles without dropping a current one, which I don't want to do, so had to decline.

    This is one of my lesser known enjoyments of life - rewriting governing and policy documents.

    There is something really satisfying about taking a set of rules or policies, sitting down and working up a new format, new wordings, and doing a bit of cleaning up which retaining the spirit of what people want. Consultation is important, so a group works really well, but not so large a group that debates about minor points drag on unnecessarily. Once the group has rewritten a section (and a broad structure proposal), but it online for people to submit comments about, move onto the next section, adjust based on comments, and repeat.

    It's also a really good time for throwing the cards in the air with regards to some things even being formalised at all. A lot of rules are important, but are often unnecessarily prescriptive. I certainly think we could do with removing some complexities in POR..
    Code:
    while onCamp == True:
        if fireHeat < 0.4 then:
             pokeFire()
