Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (tt-exchange)

Hello Escouts!!

This is a post regarding software though tt-exchange (UK).

Has anyone had success with purchasing the Adobe Acrobat Pro XI software from tt-exchange??

I haven't tried yet but I was looking through the restrictions (for Acrobat Pro) and it says the following:
Donated products will not be made available to fraternities or sororities, Scouts, computer refurbishing programmes, legislative and political organisations, or advocacy groups.
Now that had me wondering so I went into the account profile and we are registered as a Scout Group:

Organisation association (320: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.)

Yet tt-exchange say that we qualify for adobe products, I checked all the products in that category and the restrictions are the same as above.

So I was just curious to see if anyone else has purchased it with success?

Thanks in advance

Jamie

No intelligence on this matter, but this seems to be echoed elsewhere -

SmugMug got the kudos from dishing out free subs to youth groups etc, now have stopped doing it.

As if Adobe don't make enough from us Pro users.

If you are just wanting to create pdfs you don't need Acrobat. You can create pdf documents from MS Office (if I remember correctly 2007 has a free download and later versions include it) or from libre/openoffice or from just about anything under Windows by using print driver type pdf creators such as pdfcreator (read the options if you install it though to make sure you don't also install some junk). You only really need Acrobat if you want to edit a pdf document (as opposed to changing the original document and creating a new pdf). Even then, libre/openoffice make a good job of importing pdf and there must be other freebies around that can too.

You need pro to create interactive pdfs - with forms and signing etc...

I have been looking at Google forms this evening, is there anything that would make the data more presentable?
Thanks

That is a bit of an open ended question! :)

In what way would you want the data to be more presentable? What data are you trying to collect? We use Google forms for recording contact details for camps, for example, but I find the forms easily adaptable for all sorts of data, it is just a question of designing the form (but I must admit it took me a while to get the layout I wanted!).

Products like Scribus and Libreoffice support the creation of interactive pdfs, or are you saying there is some crucial feature that they don't support?

Yeah, sorry should of made myself clearer (reading it back).

I meant with regards to the responses spreadsheet, is there a new we can output each submitted form for a doc or pdf?

We are looking into creating a permission to camp form.

Google forms will out put a summary or details to spreadsheet.
If you're going electronic then do some research on electronic signatures.
These can be as simple as a check box saying you agree to the terms and with forms you can make people sign in to confirm their submission.

Why would you want this to print individual sheets rather than having one simple spreadsheet of all the data parents have put in?

No, as far as I am aware, there is no way to output each submitted form. You don't actually see the form completed by the parents - as Ben says once the parents have completed the form the data that they have submitted is summarised on a spreadsheet and as Dan says why would you need separate forms?

If you want to drop me a pm with your email address, I can give you a link to some test data on Google Drive, so you can see what it looks like.

People have created with Google to enable you to get at your data from forms:
