    Extremist Watch

Hang on lets consider the plus side. If the security services react with the same tactics they used with Green groups, then they will send police officers to infiltrate the scouts to find out what's going on. To make themselves useful to the group they would be given access to mini buses and funding, a new source of such leaders shouldn't be rejected out of hand.

Also if scouting were declared illegal then the BBC would almost certainly start glamouring it and the government might even include Wayne in some form of power sharing agreement The ''Friday Scout Night Agreement''

What would Red Six have to do that they didn't do last year ?

Surely this is just the Express rehashing the same story as originally emerged as a consultation before Christmas and which has already apparently been confirmed not to apply to Scouting as per Wayne's blog.
Does anyone know what's going on?

We had a Bomb disposal Captain in to talk to the Cubs last term. Brilliant speaker but some of the cubs seemed worrying interested in how to actually make a bomb - I shall report back on our Ofsted raid idc.
The Roman Empire did not become great by holding meetings. It did so by killing everyone that opposed their point of view.

Many moons ago, I had an I depth chat with a bomb disposal chap on the different sorts of trigger mechanism, most of my experiences were from my time as a scout making booby trap buzzers etc.

Some time ago, we had a fellow in scouts from whom we frequently confiscated fireworks (bought on the continent so not for the faint-hearted) and other more home-made devices...

He's now a Royal Marine Commando.

Take from that what you will.

(We had another member who left years ago, a leader met his Dad and asked how the boy-now-a-man was getting on, The father said "Mmm, yes, he's fine. I've no idea where he is, he's in the Army but he's not allowed to tell us what he's doing." We decided, thinking back, that we weren't surprised.)

You could argue that Scouting teaches all the skills required to live in a terraced house

We also teach respect, tolerance and citizenship

And how to help yourself and others in an emergency

It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves

Also covers the Knot Tying badge as we would lash them to a stake, and then enact our Backwoods Cooking Badge - Roasted Government Official anyone?
