    I can but dream.
Indeed. Not only that, but this page under number 8 . Retention, has had the same statements: Retention Schedule (more detail will follow). and Disposal Procedures (more detail will follow). since I last looked at it more than a year ago! And chris jay's question to the UKCC, still does not seem to have had an adequate response.

Can I get a copy of your form please David. Ideally in the original file format that I can edit if necessary rather than just PDF.

    Thanks,
    Adrian.

    Disappointed with Wayne's latest answer.

YPIF does not "provide you with the information you require" - it collects a lot of info that is useless to me and to Scouting as a whole - and in any case a supplementary form for the 7-pager is required for gift aid, swimming ability and other locally collected info.

If we are going to have a national mandatory YPIF it is a VERY important document and needs to be as well designed and constructed as humanly possible.

Like others, I am ashamed to give people the current form.

And the current situation where POR insists on the YPIF (which in turn gives misleading info to parents about how data will be stored in Compass) brings POR into disrepute and just encourages a cavalier attitude to compliance in all areas.

    It's a shambles.

I am trying to be realistic because I understand the Compass debacle has taken up a hell of a lot of national staff and volunteer time this past year so I don't expect miracles, but I have very little confidence that the problems with the YPIF are even understood or acknowledged by the powers that be.

He's the guy at the top of the tree. Let's face it, when pressed, he really cannot be seen to go against POR, or recommend going against POR. In specific cases like the YPIF form, he might know it happens, he might turn a blind eye to it happening, you may even be able to read between the lines and interpret that he might be ok with it happening, but when pressed, he has to go by the book.

    And yes, it is shambolic.

Other than the design of the form being a bit rubbish, my concern about it is the statement about the form being destroyed, which at present it will not be. This could be a breach of the DPA.

You can of course cross the statement out. Or indeed rewrite it onto a different form.

I've entered about 10 of these forms recently to OSM. Parents get confused between, Child details, Emergency Contact, 1st Contact and 2nd Contact, there is an awful lot of duplication and left to their own devices they usually never enter an emergency contact who isnt a Parent!

Entering them into OSM is very confusing.

It's a bit useless on a piece of paper really. The only possible use is that it helps identify them when they ask to join our group's closed Facebook group.
