    Tracking changes

There is, in fact, a page listing 'recent updates' to factsheets.

    http://members.scouts.org.uk/recentupdates

I used to check it every couple of months for anything relevant to my roles.

However, in true TSA website fashion, the 'recent updates' page is itself 18 months out of date.

You'd think a dedicated CIO could manage a programme of IT improvements to solve this kind of thing.

    You'd think.

Yes I eventually found a page via google giving the 2016 changes. but blimey what a farce. we have had so much trouble with permits and the levels of quals required we just don't need this....... Someone read this and thought that they had changed it to say your need to be a minimum of a L2 coach with moderate water endorsement to get a B2 permit. fortunately I managed to explain that the policy hadn't changed as I compared it with an old copy I had to hand. but ohm my did the email start flying around.

But this is getting very tiresome. I wish the managers of this organisation would start managing......

FWIW I'd actually quite like the CIO job provided I was given enough funding and control to be able to sort these things out properly.

I would love to see fact sheets treated similarly to network rail standards!

Any changes since the last revision are marked with a vertical line in the margin.

    Moreover they are colour coded.
Red is things you must comply with, no exceptions

Yellow sections you must have a very good reason not to comply with

Green sections represent best practice or examples of how people have done it in the past

And for those who find colour difficult we added a box around the mandatory, a left hand vertical line for the do unless you can justify not, and a left hand dotted border for the guidance.

Yep, hadn't noticed the difference per say but now you mention it I can see it.... Already noticed that green was dotted and red was a thick box but hadn't noticed much about the yellow

I used to have this bookmarked as my landing page into scouts.org.uk. It mean't that I picked up on changes without having to rely on . I assumed it had caught the Compass virus when it stopped working.
