    It's Wayne CBE!

Sincere congratulations to Wayne Bulpitt, awarded an OBE CORRECTION: CBE! in the Queen's Birthday Honours for voluntary service to the Scout Association.

A richly deserved award, IMHO. His willingness to engage with the grass roots as the UKCC was (IMHO) faultless, and his energy and commitment to the role were no less so.

    Delighted!

Well deserved but can he accept it with his objection to adults wearing badges?

Congratulations Wayne, well deserved - it seems so long ago now that we were able to raise questions direct and so easily.

I might be wrong - but I thought from the posts on facebook this morning that its a CBE rather than OBE?

You are absolutely right, Dan. I just surfed the list and saw "Order of the British Empire, and missed the "Commander" bit.

I've corrected my OP, but I can't change the thread title. If any of the Mods are around (Hello Gavin, that means you ...), please could they change the title.

There are a lot of things going on which remind me of the 70s (I mean outside scouting). I might start a thread to discuss.

Look thru the list of CBE's & see that the majority are for people doing their paid day job - Wayne's and a few other stand out as they were for their voluntary service
