Looking for a Walking Permit Holder to help - South Wales

    Hello there lovely people,

I hope you are well. I'm Luke, Scout leader at 2nd Southampton.

This Summer (July 29-Aug 3) we are on camp in beautiful south wales. While we are there, we would LOVE to walk in the Breacon Beacons but unfortunately we don't have hill-walking permits.

I'm wondering if anyone with a T1 permit wants to be AWESOME or help me find someone or two who may be able to join us for a day.

We have 14 Scouts on camp, staying at Botany Bay and currently have the following days free.

    31 July - Monday
    2nd Aug - Wednesday
    3rd Aug - Thursday

We might be able to do Sunday 30th July if I can change a booking.

If there is anyone who can help, or have anyone else who might know someone, I'd massively appreciate it. Clearly we can provide fuel costs, food and endless thanks.

    Kind regards

    -Luke

we seem loathe to do that in this country but are more than happy to do it abroad

Would have happily helped out Luke, however I'm going to be in Switzerland then.

    Hi Chris.
Thanks for your idea. I hadn't considered that as I thought we had to have someone with a scout permit (forgive my ignorance), but yes I will certainly consider it now.
    Many thanks,

    Luke

If you have someone competent enough in map reading, there are a few decent walks in terrain 0 around the Brecon area but I do agree its a shame not to actually do something a little more adventurous whilst you are in a nice walking area if you can.

At the risk of teaching you to suck eggs - have you asked Botany Bay if they know anyone
