    Coleman Event Shelter

    So, once you've fully erected the shelter and nailed it to the floor, does the webbing square you start with actually serve any purpose? Seems to me it's just an unnecessary trip hazard...

    It's just a temporary tool to aid pitching. Once it's pitched you remove it.

    It's just to ensure that you get the feet in the right place to start with otherwise it's very easy to set it up too wide and low.... Once you have nailed it down then you can fold up the template and store it back in the bag

    In the same way that once you've reached your destination in the rain, does keeping an umbrella up serve a purpose? No, but it was useful for a while.
    If it was easy, it wouldn't be so much fun...
    GSL 1st Aylburton & Lydney, TA, ESL(YL), District Campsite Warden & webmanager .....only 1 hour a week, they said (not pointing out that was what was left)
