Yes, loads of pictures about Gilwell24 on facebook, if you search for it, there should be a Gilwell24 page, and that will have loads on. And videos.

Yes. I suspect most events of any size will have their own pages, as there's no practical limit to the number of pages you can "like" it makes sense to filter it like that. So the main scout page might say "yer Gilwell24 was ace" with a nice pic of smiling diverse explorers and a link to the Gilwell24 page (or apparently not), while the Gilwell24 page has a bazillion pictures and videos on that would cheese off the average cub leader if their feed was full of them.

I think TSA now tends to put a blanket photos will be taken and used for publicity purposes statement on their event forms. Although I have never been to one so don't know for sure it might just be some other Jamboree type events.

Conditions for attending Gilwell 24 included:
At certain times SACs commission professional photographers and videographers to take pictures/videos at their centres for use in their promotional material. Ticket Users should be aware that on occasion they and their group might be photographed, filmed or audibly recorded (in addition to security CCTV systems) as members of the Scout or Guide Associations, for promotional purposes.
It is the ticket Userís responsibility to notify TSA prior to their visit if any members of their group do not want to appear in any such photography. It is advised to notify the Duty Manager at the respective centre upon arrival.

    but no specific release?

"When photographs featuring young people are being taken specifically for use in advertising and/or promotional material, it is recommended that parental consent is obtained using a specific release form.
A release form is not a legal requirement, (as the copyright of an image belongs to the photographer and not the subject), nevertheless, it is good practice and good manners to seek specific parental approval."

surely the scouts would follow their own guidance?
