Is NCS money government money ?

The TSA states it avoids accepting government money because it may have strings attached. Yet NCS is funded by the government and we have accepted money from them so why not cut out the very expensive middle men and accept money direct from the government ?

I sometimes think the Scout Association has forgotten, or can't decide what it wants to be. Sometimes its a charity with interests in youth work, or a quasi-corporate/arms-length extension of national education policy.

Does it? That's very much my view, but I don't recall ever becoming an official spokesman of TSA

Wayne did state it in his replies and I understand it was repeated at the recent conference where the CEO of the NCS shared the platform with our CEO.

Arather obviously hypothetical question from me...

If I were still a GSL in a TSA group, in what way would this influx of funding impact upon my delivery of Scouting for young people?
