    Monopoly Run "Live" 2018

As we are coming up on the end of the Autumn term I just wanted to remind you of the Monopoly Run "Live" on the 3rd March 2018.

We still have plenty of spaces available on Tier 1 (Day Runners) all for £8 per head, more information about the Run can be found here - https://monopoly-run.co.uk/

    Bookings are here - https://dashboard.monopoly-run.co.uk/

The event is open to Scouts, Explorers, Leaders, SAS, Guide, Senior Section etc. We also have groups from as far a field as Scotland and even some from Ireland. It's a great day around London, and gives everybody the opportunity to experiance the sights and sounds, as well as learning how to navigate around a city.

This is a great opportunity to get some #youthshaped Scouting into your programme as well, just think about the opportunities of planning the tactics of the day, to understanding which route to take.

Farnham Explorers planning to be there. It's a good, if rather tiring, day.

Yeah, obviously, not got organised to book on yet but...

    Just to resurrect this, sorry.

If you are stuck for an idea this term, why not come along to the Monopoly Run 18 in March.

It's open to Scouts and above, and we still have plenty of spaces available.

    Just to report back...

We had a big debate on our leaders whatsapp group about cancelling us partaking in this or not on Friday, thanks to the not so clement weather. Ended up going for it, but if any parent didn't want to chance the journey to the station that we'd give a refund of most of the fee. Had all bar 4 turn up, so 35 headed off to that London on a train that was cancelled, then wasn't. The teams seemed to have a really great day from what we could tell, we had Explorers so we let them loose on their own with our mobile numbers if they needed us.

One team said they had "app problems" so after a bit went to the Science museum instead. They came 202 out of 225. Another team tried a bit harder and were 3rd overall! Everyone else was in between.

Trains were a bit chaotic on the way back and we ended up with 20 Explorers on one train with no leaders, and two leaders on another train with one team. and another three leaders on Waterloo station waiting for the final team. Still, we all got home eventually.

Anyway, trains aside, the Explorers seemed to have a fantastic time, and I commend it to the house. Next years is 2nd March 2019 apparently.
