The logo that's been trademarked has been done so with a mistake in the image - a small black dot has been left in the upper left of the image - https://i.imgur.com/NzfLCHx.jpg
Just seems a little sloppy that such a mistake, all-be-it tiny, was left in the image.
Well.... the Scotland and Wales logos are still modified versions of the UK corporate logo and use the same font... If UK Scouting is changing its logo and font then it would make sense for Scotland and Wales to follow suit. If they don't they the TSA Brand as a whole becomes even more muddled than it already is or potentially will be.
Also, it was pressure from Scouts/Leaders/Groups that got the Chief Scouts Gold badge changed after its redesign 3 years ago where it became that tiny little diamond shaped badge that was the smallest of any of the challenge badges. Eventually after alot of feedback, the badge was then redesigned again to be the same size as the hexagonal challenge badges and incorporate some of the elements of the old oval shaped challenge badge.
Indeed they do not, they used 5 different fonts of their own for those logos that aren't used anywhere else :P HOWEVER the point I was making is more that the Serif font is used in so many places when it comes to scouting, It's not just something limited to being used with the Corporate Logo - It's used in books, publications, banners/posters, websites (including ScoutShop which as it eventually get's a new website using their re-branded "Scout Store 1917" identity will use its own new font, completely different from TSA) - Scouting Wales and Scouting Scotland have their own logos but they too use the serif font all over their websites.

I suppose all this running around shuffling deckchairs gives the powers that be the impression that 'things are happening'. Will it make any difference at ground level? No* I have noticed that my scouts don't seem too concerned about what badges I wear, just what activities we do. Is there something wrong with them?
*Based on experience of all the previous admin/logo changes we've had in the past 30+ years.
I still get grief from the DC when she sees I'm still wearing the old old district & county badges on my uniform shirts (it's changed twice since I put them on). My answer is I'll change them when I get a new shirt, not because somebody wants a different design. Since my 'winter' shirt is probably about 10 years old and still in good nick I don't see that happening anytime soonMy 'summer' shirt on the other hand -which is even older- getting near it's use-by date and relegation to the loco cleaning-rag bin.
I don't know if this has already been mentioned here, I had a quick gander through the thread and didn't see anything about it.
I stumbled on this image earlier on today that the website Scout Adventures (which is owned by TSA) use throughout their site
https://www.scoutadventures.org.uk/
and if that's not simple enough then they could just take away a few elements
I think any one of those would be much better than the proposed new logo - the lines aren't so harsh, the lines aren't as thick, the horizontal line isn't as wide, it just looks so much more welcoming and nice and it's something that the TSA already use (all-be-it only on the Scout Adventures website)

There's a new blog post, the new brand will go live from the 15th May.
Seems to be a lot of effort to change a logo and pick a standard font everyone has.
To get more kids we need more adults - are we getting the message yet?
But its so much more than that...
We're going to have a new, inspiring tone of voice. They're going to issue guidelines about what words we should use while discussing scouting...
It'll be fine - so long as you don't look too wild eyed and fevered while saying them, to people you may have cornered...
I can't wait to find out what new words to use, hopefully it'll provide a cure for my terrible lethologica...
