Just for fun - what's it going to be?

So.... St George's day rapidly approaches. Pretty much every year HQ does a big press release, some kind of good news story, normally about latest census numbers but with a particular spin. Previous years we've had

    10 years of growth
    New groups in deprived areas
    More girls
    More explorers

    The list goes on.

It's normally on a Friday. So I'm assuming this Friday coming.

So what do we think the spin will be this year? Comment below.....

I don't think it will be about the autistic spectrum.

Inclusion of children of Syrian refugees, to make it topical.

Meghan and Harry will announce that they will move their wedding to Gilwell where there will be scout songs, a big bonfire, and a relay knot race.

They will also announce that if you want to go you will need to volunteer and be fully trained. This will lead to a massive crush of applicants, at which point the bureaucracy will collapse under it's own weight and the dreaded UK Scouting IT infrastructure will explode and be replaced by note pads and carrier pigeons.

I get that now! My wife told me that one of the bakers on celeb bake off was from diversity. Which I thought was a rather unpleasant way of saying he was a black man on a predominantly white show (which seemed rather out of character for her). She had to explain that he was from (the dance group) Diversity.

"2018 sees another year of Growth for the Scout association with more and more young people learning the skills necessary for life in the workplace and beyond. In order to facilitate this we will soon be unveiling our new exciting Scout national Curriculum and giving leaders the tools to deliver the new Curriculum though a quality assurance, compliance, inspection and enforcement system. Soon you will be able to see how well your local Scout group is doing via a new scout group league table system"

Hmm last year was more volunteers than ever before but we still need more which was along the lines of what was going to be my guess for this year.

Maybe more teenagers than ever before assuming the Explorer growth figures recover from last year's disappointing figures.
