Thumbs down The thread which shouldn't exist.

So I've been ignoring the "thread which won't die" since 2013 now. Has anything useful come up in it? I would have missed it because I LIKE being able to sift through by topic and only click on stuff that interests me. It seems stunningly counter productive on a system designed to let you do that, to put some much discussion into a single generic thread. Why would you do that?

It's a bit of fun and has been an ongoing thing for years - it just won't die unless an admin or moderator turns off replies.

Its basically a thread where people post random things that don't justify their own thread often one post doesn;t even follow on from the last at all.

I think that strictly speaking it has died. It is supposed to be "totally unrelated entries" but I have seen quite a few that related to a previous one.

Is it not in the off moments that one can pick up the best titbits of info?

Also, its not just about what people can take from a thread, its also about the soporific effect, a place to vent - where its the adding to the thread which is the point.

I think 'the thread that won't die' is very much of the moment, if we take the words 'stunningly counter productive' as its descriptor.
