Online training no PDF of course completion

Just completed an online training module, as District are putting on the pressure for leaders to get up to date, and at the end theres a print button, as my printer is out of ink the print job was cancelled, and as the SCout association has thought of everything there is no option to download a certificate.
We also have some other leaders who need to complete some training, and the online option would be the best solution, however not all of them have a printer

Many print to PDF applications available and easy to use.

Screenshot taken and saved, although not all leaders will know how to take/save a screenshot - or even what a screenshot is

I recently did my GDPR training and all I did was save the certificate as an image and email it to the LTM who validated it for me the same day.

I use primopdf which the pc thinks of as a printer, but it just creates a pdf of any doc.
    Dead simple to use

We had a Group session last week doing the GDPR and the problems we had with the certificates was crazy.

Some managed to print them to the wireless printer, others were able to save as pdfs, others as some other format and two of use used our phones to save a picture.

We found if you tried to send the screenshot as an email it was blank when received, if saved to dropbox it was also blank.

I agree that there needs to be a way to properly download it to the device being used or emailed other than a blank document.

Which is fine if using a PC. Try it with an ipad or android tablet. A lot depends then on the apps loaded and whether you have email etc.

You shouldnt need to be thinking of workarounds. Its 2018. It's pretty poor that the training being completed doesnt automatically update into compass without needing to print, pdf, or screenshot certificates... but if a paper trail really is needed then there should be the option to download a certificate. Its not rocket science.

Just ignore the whole GDPR thing. It saves having to print anything at all.
To get more kids we need more adults - are we getting the message yet?

I recently went to a meeting where there was a discussion on whether the Secretary was allowed to email the meeting members to tell them about the meeting as they hadn't signed a form to say she could email them! World gone mad.

I use Google Chrome when I want to create a pdf because it supports 'Save as PDF' from the print dialog.

Speaking of GDPR I noticed I haven't been getting emailings from my county. Turns out this was because they sent me an email which I had missed saying I has to opt in to receive them. Good understanding of GDPR there then.

If it was all joined up, you would simply log into compass, go to training, see what needs to be done, and either follow a link to an online course, and at the end of it, if its passed, validated or both, that should be recorded into compass automatically.
At the moment its a case of sending the information off to a training advisor/whoever deals with training, hoping that same person is still the training person, and they will get round to updating the records/not loose the email/letter/information/leave it sitting for a few weeks

That's common sense and a very similar system to what we have where I work. All we do is login to the online system, go onto the learning and development bit and into our training plan and find the training we need to complete, do it online and then our training plan automatically updates.
