    Impressed

I leant some trangias to a local scout troop. I think they were doing the expedition challenge, or were just having a night away that was more back to basics. I think they were on ration packs but I'm not sure, anyway that's beside the point. They had them sleeping in hammocks with tarps, so far so normal, but it appears they've not only got 25 hammocks and 25 tarps, but 25 underblankets things too. I guess that helps with the main flaw of hammocking out of high summer, people get really cold because their sleeping bag compresses against the hammock. And the scouts would tend to have 2-3 season bags. Seems like a good purchase to extend the camping season to me, what do you think?

i love my DD underblanket, it was 49 and worth every penny

i bet they would do a deal for 25!

Tamarack have it for 46 at the moment but there is sure to be more money off to be had

alibaba - underblanket is annoyingly high minimum purchase so not worth doing

We use DD Scout Hammocks, I tell the scouts to use their normal floor pad, between the layers.
My son uses a windscreen reflector, which does the job and is similar to the Hennessey Bubble Mat that I have.
I also have a set off DD Top and bottom quilts which I use in the summer/autumn.
From memory when we bought the Hammocks DD gave us something like a 20% discount on price but then charged a flat rate for postage.

Uuugh, I wish you hadn't sent me there, Tamarack have teepees on special 30% off...no Ian, no, not more teepees. Mind you, we had to borrow three for summer camp....

We hammock all the kids in our group, they love it more than tents. We do it open with no tarps in the summer, weather permitting. But when we camp out in the winter a tarp and underblanket keeps them toasty even in some of the cheaper sleeping bags they tend to bring.
