    Fun activities near Brownsea Island...

    Hi All,

Planning a camp on Brownsea Island in the Summer.

Looking for one more activity to use as a "stop off" on the last day travelling home from Sandbanks to North London.

Party of approximately 60 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Currently looking at a couple of water parks but open to anything fun/ different/ exciting etc.

Any suggestions that come to mind?

Moors Valley Country Park is pretty nice. There's a Go Ape there but it's a nice place to explore more generally.

    Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium.
Milestones museum in Basingstoke is not too serious and is a big indoor space.

and a +1 for Splashdown. Though if you want something more halfway to break the journey, Basingstoke I think has a decent pool complex, or Bracknell Coral Reef.

If you want somewhere to run around outside, Hawley Lake has a big woodland round it, or if you wanted a longer stop, they do sailing activities.

A slight detour, and I'm sure you could get some guided tours round the engine sheds at the Watercress Line in Ropley.

Will it be a weekend? Driving from Bournemouth/Poole to London on a weekend is a nightmare. It will take you at least an hour (possibly more like 1 1/2 hours) to get to Southampton. Speaking of which, Paulton's Park is just off the motorway! Moors Valley is also good (there's an orienteering course you can do relatively cheaply, and a few other odd activities) but can get busy.

Wrong direction for you but the waterpark at Corfe Castle is a great way to use an hour and let off some steam if it helps anyone else booking programme down there. Couple of old ponds filled with inflatables, they kit you out with wet suits and let you loose in each of them for half an hour before swapping you to the other one.
Does anyone know what's going on?
