Options for repairing 'peg elastic' on mess tent

    Hi

Got back from a very windy weekend in Dublin and our inflatable mess tent has sustained some damage. It has lots of elastic loops that are used for pegging points around the base. Half a dozen of these have snapped.

What are the options for replacing these loops? I have searched online but can't find a like for like replacement. They are much more heavy-duty than the Vango ones that I can find on Amazon.

You can get reels of shock cord, various dimensions and thickness of both eBay and amazon. You would need a way to tie them off or a connector of some sort.

I think B&Q sell reasonable size shock cord too.there is some here but I think they sell any length in store and may have thicker stuff too https://www.diy.com/search?Ntt=Bungee+cord

You could probably use a double overhand knot to make the loop, or if you want to be “Scouty” use as many different knots that can join two ropes together and then it becomes an activity on your next camp to count, identify and tie the knots.

Failing the above, try emailing or ringing the tent supplier to ask about spares.
