    Tough at the top?

HQ is advertising for a new Chief Digital Officer:
    https://scouts.org.uk/about-us/jobs/...gital-officer/

Matt Hyde says that it's a "big new staff opportunity".

Why do we keep losing the person who is supposedly going to fix everything? Helen Murray has only been there for 2 years.

Will it ever be fixed with this sort of staff turnover?

Who's going to be the first to say "93k! Flippin 'eck!"?

"Internal Relationships: Board of Trustees; Board Committee members; Team UK; Regional
and County Commissioners; Senior Leadership Team; Heads of
Departments; Headquarters staff; and staff in Devolved Nations

External Relationships: Equivalent senior staff in organisations from the wider
voluntary/third sector and technology/IT sector; suppliers and
    contractors for services"

    pretty straight forward then!

Ho! Wait! Hang on, do they never talk to the end users then? Or is that for the underlings to deal with.

not unusual for chief digital/ technical officer to be in role for a couple of years.

If you enjoy large projects and launching big things then the day-to-day management can be rather dull. Equally, there are CDO/CTO types whose skill is keeping well built infrastructure on a gentle and gradual development path.

I'd be expecting to pay more than 93k for this role...

And for them to have basically shoved together a website that a kid could have done in a couple of weekends in that time, and little else?

Mind you, if they are leaving of their own accord it could show signs that TSA's awkward and unwieldy structure has frustrated their desire to actually do something about the issues...

I do agree on the money, though. For a large corporate (which we are, if you count every volunteer as an employee, which in IT provision terms they are) I'd be expecting north of 200K.

Do you think, perhaps, that I should apply? No...

I applied last time and got nowhere, I'm not the calibre they are after. I suspect I'd have found it frustrating anyway.
