    Where's the logistics training?

    42 Explorers on summer camp

Bike ride 15 miles there, 15 miles back. Choice of short or long. Same days as horse riding.
Horse ride, three sessions a day for two days. Max 8 per session.
Stables want a variety of heights in each group.
Bikes need those on the short ride to be paired up in heights on the same day, so those going out can swap at lunchtime and the bike will fit.
Smiffy is leaving on the second day, but doesn't want to go horseriding
Billy is leaving second day afternoon, wants to do both, inc long bike ride.

    Three minibuses
    Horse riding sessions are
    9:30-11:30, 11:30-1:30, 2:30-4:30
    7 in each session
Bike ride, allow 3 hours with stops and punctures and slow riders.
    16 bikes hired.
8 doing long ride. 8 not, swapping over with a different 8 at lunchtime.
    9-12, 1-4.

It's ok, spreadsheets, check sums, I've got this.

Actually, looking at that, looks like transport isn't an issue, one minibus for the horse riding, two for the cycling.

Really I'm posting this to be busy procrastinating so I don't think about the current lack of gear for a 7 patrol summer camp when (it's great but) all the scout troops have got their act together and so we can't borrow kit from here there and everywhere.

Can't do it without a spreadhseet nowadays.

And people wonder why we start planning months in advance of an event.

So that you spot a kid that's on your list as going, but now isn't marked as going in OSM...and you can't find any emails referring to the change...hopefully there tonight so I can ask in person.

Try running a camp for 28 where you can only transport half those camping at once and need to change driver of the MPV between each trip so no one has to drive to the same location to do the same activity twice.

Its all about pairing activities in camp (or walking distance/public transport accessible from camp) and activities out of camp
