    Compass password

Anyone know where on Compass I need to go to change my password and security question?

I have saved the password on my PC but now want to change it. I tried the "change my password" on the login, but I can't remember the answer to my security question (well it was a while ago).

I can't see anything on the site that is in any way helpful.

Hmm, I know that the normal method is to change your password from the "change my password" on the login screen, but security questions can be a real ****** (they're supposed to be something you'll always remember because it never changes, but seriously....? People forget stuff all the time - I know I do! xD)

After looking around on the Compass Support website, the only alternative I can think of is to contact Compass directly and ask them to reset your security question, giving as much information as you can to verify that you really are you.

    Is this worth a try?

If you use the chat help function on the page, they'll change it all for you.

I had the same issue, and that's how I did it. They were really quick.

Now though, I can't find it. It's possible they're only on duty during office hours - I can't remember the day and time I did it before. I'm sure it was just sitting in the bottom corner of the Compass sign in page, but I don't see it at the moment.

    I'm 99% sure I didn't imagine it all.

I have a horrible feeling you can only do it through the info centre (chat or phone), which of course will now only be open when we're all at work.... Another spectacular non-user friendly feature.

    A little bit of Googling revealed;
Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager

Who knew you could view your saved passwords?

Still can't remember my security question. I've tried the chat function, hopefully they'll pick it up on Monday. I'll try to get a call through during the week.

    Thanks for all your help.

One thing to do going forward, is to treat your security questions as just another password. Make it long and silly and store it in the password manager!

    Doesn't help you now much....

I can login to the account. Why do I have to do it outside of the account? Oh yeh, it's an SA system!

Apparently I had exceeded the number of attempts to change it. Many thanks to the Info Centre. Now changed.
