For anyone that knew him, I am sorry to report that Derek Evans died suddenly on Monday (11th). he was 86. Derek committed his life to Scouting, holding pretty much every position from Wolf Cub to A.C.C. Scouts in Essex. On the way he helped pioneer the first official Scout & Guide Gang Show 'It's A Date' and for several years also ran Belchamps Camping Ground. At 65 he wrote his Autobiography entitled 'My Chosen Way' which in places read like a 'Who's Who. Yet there was nobody more down to earth with an enormous sense of fun. I was proud to have him as my Best Man. I and Scouting owe him a lot! His funeral is in Cromer on 25th November. I can supply more information to anyone that wants it.
