    Flag Toppers

    Morning all.
I hope you're staying fit, well and safe at the moment. Can anybody help me with a question about flag poles. My group has asked me to build a rack for their colours, which is simple enough, but I don't know what spacing I need to allow for the finials. We've got two designs, fleur-de-lils and leaping wolves, could anybody with easy access to their flags measure the width / height of the finials and let me know?

    Many thanks etc. Stay Safe

Can't help with the flag topper measurement but I know our flag stand had holes for flags 30cm apart. This was more than enough room for the toppers, and allowed the flags themselves to be vaguely visible.

The leaping wolf is 14 cm across, the fleur-de-lys 9cm (might depend on which version you have).

Our (portable) flag stand has the holes about 15cm apart at most, probably nearer 10cm. never caused us an issue and we have a Leaping Wolf and Scout Arrowheads as finials. it doesn't display the flags as well if used at those spacing but it needed to be like that when we used to have the guide flags to fin in as well as the Scout ones for Church parade (the Guides at our Church closed many years ago now) as it has to be able to be moved in and out of the Church for Church parades and had to be small enough not to take up half the chancel area in the Church when in use.

To be perfectly honest I have suspicions the flag stand is actually an umbrella stand but it works well regardless
