Ours are going 4,5 hours by bus to Sennelager in Germany where many groups from the area are celebrating together. Looks like being really good, pity I can't go due to work.

My group is going to our district camp, at an agricultural college called Bicton... I'm not a big fan of the site at all, but the activities look ok, although I'm yet to read all the documentation. £20 /person +food&transport... So not too bad.

Last year I did my AS levels, most were after H/T but I went away on camp for the whole week. Took revision notes with me. My results did not suffer at all (A's for each AS ) just make sure that you have done plenty of revision before you go so that just reading the notes every day whilst at camp keeps it ticking over.

I'm going on the Centenary camp this year, only Fri-Mon, so not so bad, and I only have about 1/2 the amount of exams I had last year!

But yes I kind of agree, its not a great time to have a camp.
I've got an exam on Advanced Electrodynamics the following tuesday, and other 3 exams over the following week and a half, all of which count toward 100% of one module for my third year doing a physics degree. No matter HOW organised I was there is no way I could go on the camp and pass the exam...

But because I can't go I'm arranging a big group camp for september
    ASL...

I'm going to my county's Centenary camp as part of my Jamboree Unit. I'm helping with the opening ceremony and other ceremonies, and helping run the event on the weekend too (such as helping activities, running one of the extra shops we will put up, the canteen etc.); but I do have a lot of time to have fun myself too!

I'll be helping at Humberside's County one at Driffield.

I remember when I was doing my A levels (some 12 years ago) Scouting kept me sane, a few days off revising doesn't do anyone any harm my theroy was if you didn't know it a month before you probably won't get to know it anyway.

Herts County has organised a camp about 5 miles from us, follow chats with some parents we felt it wasn't going to happened for our group, everyone was notified about the event and are welcome to attend if they wish either for the day or overnight.
District has organised a single night event, same thing applies. Other than they are also holding the AGM on the afternoon of the camp, but Beavers can't camp which didn't go down to well with other leaders. I shall probably only go for the AGM.
As for the group, we have classified all our 2007 camps, centenary camps which allows the maximum number to take part and the highlight for most will be the Hike to the local site and then camp on straw palliases and cook on an open fire for the night with a nice camp fire for everyone.

We'll be there. There's 41 from our group going. I think 2,500 is just campers not counting day visitors! Where are we gonna put them all. We'll be camping on the golf course at his rate. It's gonna be brilliant.
Good job Claire's getting the beers in for the 'Wolves' sub-camp meeting tomorrow night. it's my birthday!

Attending out Districts one at Hesley Wood over spring bank holiday weekend - Can't remember the dates the kids are camping but I'm off on the Friday to help set stuff up and then we all come home on the Monday.

Recent numbers suggest 300 from district camping - someone ha given me the wonderful task of a whole camp photograph as well as giving me a 15 min time slot to take section photo's and another 15 min time slot to take pics of each group there! OUCH! I think I may cheat and get someone to help me!

We had out Centenary camp this weekend at Overstone in Northampton. It was a fantastic weekend and we've had loads of positive feedback from parents. Beavers stayed one night indoors and the Cubs and Scouts camped Saturday to Monday.

Definitely starting Group camps on a yearly basis now.
