Oh now that is a good idea although as we don't meet in August I think we will wait until September when our Churches new Minister should have arrived

we semi meet in august, don't do weekly meetings but try and do a day trip for cubs and a camp or something for scouts and then a group event

I am sure there is something that it can be linked to int he bible

I'm sure it doesn't have to connect with anything in the bible. It would be a celebration of young people, an organisation within the community that benefits the values and importance of young people to that community. Which should echo some of the beliefs that the church stands for.

one Bible reference that could be used - and would fit in with both the Scout Law & Promise & could also be used with non Christian faiths would be Mark 12 28-31

[the most important commandment is] ......Love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. The second is this:Love your neighbour as yourself.....

the same story is in Luke 10 25-28 where it is followed by the story of The Good Samaritan
